Investors need to be very careful in their analysis of investment if they are not interested to invest in equity markets through investment in mutual funds. There are two major types of analysis:
1. Fundamental Analysis
2. Technical Analysis

Fundamental Analysis is the analysis of a stock to predict the fluctuation of stock prices on the basis of core, financial and economic analysis to pick up a right stock for investment.

Technical Analysis involves study of prices and volume for forecasting of future stock price or financial price movements. Prediction of future market prices is based on stock purchasing behavior of the people, manner of glancing stock charts ,financial price movements.

Basics of fundamental analysis:

Fundamental Analysis is one of the stock valuation methods that comprises of financial and economic analysis, to analyze predict the fluctuations of stock prices. Company’s financial report are analysed in fundamental analysis. Fundamental Analysis of stocks also includes non-financial reports such as predictions of demands for products sold by the company, comparisons on industries, wide changes in economy and change in government policies.

Investor will purchase those stocks on which they predict that their stock prices will rise with increase in demand for those stocks. Investor can compare the real value of stocks with market price of the company related to those stocks. Stock investors can only decide after analyzing the demand of stocks of various companies and can invest money on stocks on the basis of management experience, history of performance, growth potential, low cost producer, brand name etc.
